Malachi Center Board of Directors Announces New Leadership

Cleveland, OH – Malachi Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving those dealing with barriers to economic, academic, and interpersonal success on the city’s near-west side, is pleased to announce a key addition to its executive team. Nate Cross has been appointed as the new executive director and will play a pivotal role in driving the Center’s strategic initiatives and fostering continued growth for the much-needed community resource.

With a proven track record of success in nonprofit fundraising and administration, Mr. Cross brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Center. He has served as an Executive Director for many local and national non-profit organizations over the course of the past 30+ years, in addition to numerous other senior level fundraising roles he has held during his professional career, here in Cleveland.

Most recently, Mr. Cross served as the Executive Director for the United Services Organization (USO), responsible for the territory of Ohio & Michigan; and previously served as Executive Director for the Northern Ohio Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, for 15 years; and for the Northern Ohio Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, for 6 years. He also worked at every level of government (federal, state, county & municipal), early in his career.

“As Malachi Center begins to commemorate its 40thanniversary, we are thrilled to welcome Nate to our team,” said Sarah Partington, President of the Malachi Center Board of Directors. “His wide-ranging nonprofit and government experience will serve our organization well, as we head into an exciting new chapter through our recently developed strategic plan. We are confident his leadership will allow the Board to successfully navigate this time of opportunity for Malachi Center.”

In his role, Mr. Cross will be responsible for overseeing the administration, programs and strategic plan of the organization and will report directly to the Board of Directors. His effective leadership, strong decision making skills and ability to advise the Board will be instrumental in guiding Malachi Center towards continued success helping those people in our community facing multiple barriers.

Mr. Cross expressed enthusiasm about joining Malachi Center. “I am excited to join the team of one of Cleveland’s most iconic organizations, that really has and continues to make a difference for those in need,” he said. “And I especially look forward to working with the Center’s dedicated staff, and a superb board – as we head into our 40th Anniversary.”

On June 11thmany Malachi Center friends and supporters joined to welcome Nate at a VIP Reception held near the Center at Bookhouse Brewing. The event was generously sponsored by BakerHostetler.
