Malachi Center Board of Directors Announces Change in Leadership

Cleveland, OH – Malachi Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving those dealing with barriers to economic, academic, and interpersonal success on the city’s near-west side, is pleased to announce a key addition to its executive team. Tara Turner has been appointed as the new interim executive director and will play a pivotal role in driving the Center’s strategic initiatives and fostering continued growth as its Board conducts a search for its permanent director.

With a proven track record of success in nonprofit fundraising and administration, Ms. Turner brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Center. Her extensive background in fundraising positions her as an invaluable asset to the organization. Ms. Turner is recognized for growing successful partnerships and relationships that lead to organizational success, as well as holding a longtime, deep understanding of Cleveland’s philanthropic landscape. As a parishioner of St. Malachi Parish and a resident of the Flats, she will also bring a personal passion to the job as she looks forward to further helping her neighbors. Previous to her work at Malachi Center, Ms. Turner served as the senior director of development and communications for LAND studio, helping raise funding for Cleveland’s public art and public space projects as well as the future Irishtown Bend Park.

“We are thrilled to welcome Tara to our team,” said Sarah Blake Partington, President of the Malachi Center Board of Directors. “Her extensive experience working for some of Cleveland’s most respected nonprofit organizations, along with her strategic mindset and passion for helping others align perfectly with The Center’s values and objectives. We are confident that her leadership will allow the Board to successfully navigate this time of transition for Malachi Center.”

In her new role, Ms. Turner will be responsible for overseeing the administration, programs and strategic plan of the organization and will report directly to the Board of Directors. Her effective leadership and strong decision-making skills and ability to manage and lead Directors and staff will be instrumental in guiding the Malachi Center towards continued success and expansion.

Ms. Turner expressed enthusiasm about joining Malachi Center. “I’m honored to assist such a beloved and impactful organization and look forward to contributing to the Center’s growth and success,” she said. “I’m confident the Board we will navigate this promising time for the organization and chart a course for the Center’s long-term success and improved impact on the community we serve.”

Malachi Center remains committed to the participants in its signature programs and investing in its hyper local community. Over the next few weeks and months, the Board’s executive team will work with Ms. Turner to hire an executive search firm to ensure a smooth transition of leadership.
