What is the best way to contact Malachi Center?
Who do you serve?
Malachi Center is located on the Superior Viaduct, at the intersection of Ohio City and The Flats and serves men, women, and children of all ages that live in the surrounding area. The majority of participants in core programs fall between the ages of 5-65 and 85% identify as African American. Many participants in Malachi Center’s programs are dealing with homelessness or housing insecurity. All are low income and struggle with challenges related to poverty. Many Malachi Center participants reside in nearby public housing or live in the area within walking distance of Malachi Center. The majority of men and women experiencing homelessness that are served by Malachi Center, sleep under bridges, in tents, or double up when they are able to. Most express a reluctance to go to a shelter, and Malachi Center therefore serves as a main source of stability, hope, and connection.
How does Malachi Center support the family?
Malachi Center staff form a unique bond with each family we serve. We provide support and a range of diverse experiences for our youth programming. Staff works alongside the family through personalized educational support and regular contact with educators, referrals and at-home activities, distributions of "family bags" and supplies to relieve the effects of the pandemic, and family night and community events to unite the family in growth.
What donations do you accept?
Our donation needs constantly change. For the homeless, we always accept donations of full-sized and travel shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, and sunscreen. We also accept gloves, hats, Hot Hands, new underwear for men and women, and socks. For our youth programming, you can always check our Amazon wishlists.

We accept donations Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5pm.

Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes, Malachi Center is a 501(c)(3) organization, and all monetary donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by tax laws.
